Working principle of punching

The working principle of stamping processing technology is to use the convex and concave dies of metal dies to punch pipes. According to the relationship between the punch movement direction and the slider movement direction of the press when the die is working, steel die punching can be divided into vertical punching and horizontal punching.

The so-called vertical punching means that the punch moves in the same direction as the slider of the press. The punch is placed on the upper die to move up and down with the slider of the press, while the female die is installed on the cantilever support of the lower die. Since the female die of this type of die is cantilever mounted, it can be called cantilever punching die.

The so-called horizontal punching means that the movement direction of the punch is perpendicular to the movement direction of the slide block of the press. It is to fix the punch and the die on the lower die, and use the wedge fixed on the upper die to push the slide block with the punch on the lower die for horizontal movement, so as to achieve the purpose of punching the pipe wall. Because this kind of die uses a wedge mechanism to drive the punch to move horizontally, it can be called a wedge punching die
